The Pittsburgh Penguins may not win the Stanley Cup this season but they'll certainly learn a lot by watching their opponent, the Detroit Red Wings.
If one were to look at the Red Wings, they would see that they are a pretty darn near perfect hockey team. They play a sound defensive system, get scoring from all four lines and their goaltender does his job to keep the puck out of the net.
The Penguins could learn a lot just by watching how the Wings' control the puck as their team is all about puck possession. They gather the puck, drive to the net, shoot, get the puck back and repeat the cycle. It's a system that has worked for their organization for the last 13 years or so.
